All RX units are equipped with completely Metal Housing and work with Metal SmartStack modules only.The RX range offers one unit available at the moment – a 5.7″ QVGA with standard 10/100Mbps Ethernet and MicroSD® onboard. The units features a TFT display with adjustable backlight offering the best visual comfort in all lighting conditions. The RX with its full IEC-61131 integrated development environment for logic, HMI design and networking is a very capable PLC with full graphics capability.

Communications options for any application

The RX has two serial ports with support for simultaneous running protocols giving the ability to connect to virtually any serial device. The built-in web-server offers the system designer a light-weight alternative to more complex SCADA systems. The MicroSD® can also serve as recipes storage and/or data logging repository for up to 2GB of data. The FTP server allows system administrators to upload new recipe data and new web pages, as well as download the latest datalogs.

Control

• The RCX has a ladder-based control engine that is powered by a processor with 256KB logic memory. This processor provides speed comparable to most mid-sized PLCs and is exactly the same as used in the XL6 family.

Input/Output

• Because of the multiple ports on the RCX, it is capable of handling all Horner I/O expansions including SmartStack™, SmartRail™ (built-in Ethernet Port), SmartStix™ and SmartBlock™ (CsCAN port) & SmartMod™ (Modbus serial).
• The SmartStack™ I/O expansion system allows the RCX to use both digital and analog I/O boards. Up to 4 I/O boards may be stacked onto a single RCX unit, giving you flexibility with various I/O combinations. Together with Ethernet, CAN and Serial I/O capabilities RCX can use all I/O combinations possible.

Operator Interface

• Designed to be used with or without a separate operator interface. Horner offers its TIU Range (or another OCS with a display) that can be easily configured to communicate with the RCX.

Networking

• A benefit of the RCX is that it can connect to other Horner devices that use our CAN based protocol CsCAN (majority of products). This leaves the other communication ports (Ethernet and 2 serial ports) free to communicate with a device of your choice.
